I am an EMCC (European Mentoring and Coaching Council) certified Performance coach and a Clinical and Organisational Psychologist who was trained in the UK, USA and at home in Trinidad and Tobago. I am also a UK certified Occupational Test Administrator and currently work as an independent organisational consultant, specializing in staff performance and morale, team building, program development, staff training, conflict management and provision of EAP services.
In my clinical private practice, I provide treatment for mental illnesses, family problems, stress and other interpersonal and intrapersonal concerns presented by individuals, couples or groups. I also specialise in web psychotherapy, psychological, psychoeducational, firearm and recruitment assessments, teaching and research.
Until the end of my two-year tenure on November 3rd, 2019, I served in the capacity of Public Relations Officer of the Trinidad and Tobago Association of Psychologists and am now an active member of the organisation’s licensure committee – a committee charged with the responsibility of developing the policies and mandates for licensure of all psychologists in Trinidad and Tobago and the instatement of a Psychology Board.
My clinical experience includes working with adult and juvenile detainees/prisoners, psychiatric outpatients, orphaned children and an amalgam of mental health-related concerns within her private practice.
I am also a past lecturer at the University of the West Indies' Faculty of Medical Sciences and has worked on various projects with the department of psychiatry at the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex, including international research projects and World Health Organisation initiatives.
I am extremely passionate about mental health and outreach efforts to educate the public about signs and interventions for common mental health problems such as television and radio appearances, newspaper articles, social media infographics and lectures on various platforms. My intention is to contribute to building a healthier society.
